Lusting for Leather at $12.99

I had to take to the blogosphere to share a fabulous find this week! How does 100% genuine leather sound for $12.99? All the thanks goes to my local Salvation Army in Lexington, Kentucky. This Andrew Marc genuine leather jacket retails $212 +. Don’t spend harder, think smarter…thrift! You may have to be willing to put in a little money for dry cleaning or alterations –if you’re like me and are an avid thrifter for trenches and jackets. This leather jacket came with plenty of character …and baggage. It was complete with 80’s shoulder pads, but I could see a gem! I’m a fashionista who makes it happen! This meant spending $15 to get alterations done and remove the shoulder pads (compliments of the local Big and Tall store in Lexington.) I only wish I had before pics to show you the transformation!

Anyway, I wanted to give you guys a somewhat complete OOTD (outfit of the day) so I’ve included some new staple pieces in my closet here as well. My new FAVORITE Rebecca Minkoff purchase this past Christmas (#merryminkoff to me)…welcome “Avery.” It’s an awesome all black cross body and it’s by far one of the best purchases I’ve made. I’m also featuring my Dolce and Gabbana sunnies, DG4231 54, from last years spring collection–at Sunglass Hut. They’re a black cat-eye with a floral print inside. These pieces will make an appearance on the blog in future outfit posts! Links are below for where you can find these items or similar ones. Happy Shopping!…AND DON’T FORGET TO THRIFT AND DONATE ITEMS FROM YOUR CLOSET!
